After a year, Columbia's youth lacrosse league continues to grow
When spring finally arrives and temperatures rise, Wednesday evenings at Columbia's Cosmo Park are filled with the shouts of competition and the quick moving feet of young lacrosse players practicing their skills. They are members of the Mid Missouri Lacrosse League, a non-profit organization started in 2009 that aims to promote the sport of lacrosse in mid-Missouri as well as introduce the game to younger players.

Story-Telling is Used to Help Alzheimer’s and Dementia Patients
Thousands of Missouri families know what it’s
like to face the debilitating mental and emotional consequences of Alzheimer’s
disease. A new group story-telling program, called TimeSlips, is helping citizens cope with some of those symptoms. According to researchers, seniors are gaining a sense of confidence, increased social interaction and expressing more signs of happiness through the act of helping tell a story around an image with their peers.
